Cardiology Nurse Practitioner
Gemma Robson is an experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of specialist cardiovascular nursing experience across Australia and the United Kingdom. She has extensive expertise in cardiovascular assessment, heart failure management, chest pain evaluation, preventive cardiology, patient education and chronic disease management.
Prior to joining Shore Cardiology, Gemma served as Cardiology Nurse Consultant at Northern Beaches Hospital, providing clinical leadership, education, research, service development and specialist support for cardiology services, including the Heart Failure Clinic. She previously worked as a Heart Failure Nurse Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital and, before moving to Australia, was a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, one of Europe’s largest tertiary cardiac centres.
During her time in the United Kingdom, Gemma led a nurse-led rapid access chest pain service, providing early assessment and diagnosis for patients presenting with suspected cardiac chest pain. Her role included advanced cardiovascular assessment, ECG interpretation, independent prescribing, and the ordering and interpretation of advanced cardiac investigations including cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and myocardial perfusion imaging.
Gemma is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based and patient-centred care. She has a particular interest in heart failure management, cardiovascular risk reduction, patient education and improving access to timely specialist cardiovascular assessment.

Gemma has a strong interest in cardiovascular research, service development and quality improvement. She was a recipient of the Northern Beaches Hospital Research Quality and Showcase Award in 2024 and has published research in heart failure services and nurse-led chest pain assessment pathways.
